REWARDS OF WORKING IN THE TRADES
WHAT IS A JOURNEYPERSON?
A certified journeyperson has successfully completed a program of apprenticeship training involving a combination of classroom instruction at a community college coordinated with their training consultant at the Ministry of Training, colleges, and universities with between 7,000 and 9,000 hours of on-the-job training and work experience under the supervision of an experienced, certified tradesperson.

There is a high demand for skilled workers in many industries contributing to good employment opportunities. Jobs in the skilled trades pay well and are interesting and challenging. While pursuing your apprenticeship, you can continue to work, providing you with an opportunity to earn while you learn.
